We invite all children ages preschool through grade 5 to join us each Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 for Godly Play. This Christian formation approach focuses on sacred stories, parables, and liturgy of the Episcopal Church. Godly play actively involves the children in the lesson, encouraging them to wonder and share as they hear these important lessons from a storyteller.
Godly Play follows a Montesorri method of teaching, which means:
- Classes are mixed ages,
- Students have choices of activities as they retell and use materials from lessons,
- Lessons use a discovery approach where students learn from working with materials, and
- Materials and manipulatives are used for each lesson.
The Godly Play approach helps children explore their faith through story, to gain religious language, and to enhance their spiritual experience through wonder and play. Godly Play lessons are offered September through May at Trinity Episcopal Church
Youth and adults meet for Christian Education each Sunday morning from 9:30 – 10:15 in the parish hall to explore various aspects of our faith journey. This year we have studied the worship and theology in the Episcopal Church and the Sacraments. Topics vary based on the interests of the group and help us explore why we believe what we do as Episcopalians.
During the spring and summer months, we join in Backyard Bible Study hosted in parishioners’ backyards where we have supper, fellowship, and study the Scriptures.
Trinity Book Group
Trinity Book Group appeals widely to women and men of our parish and beyond. We have read both fiction (ex. The Red Tent ) and nonfiction (ex. God for Us , a Lenten and Easter meditation).
We read to broaden our our knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith, and to support one another in practicing that faith. Traditionally we meet once per week for six weeks----the group participates in choosing the book and setting the meeting time. Brenda Goings facilitates the book group, and meetings are announced in the weekly bulletin and in the church calendar.
